saying their budgets are going to be cut. then the pentagon came out the next day and said we're going to have to lay off 800,000 civilian workers or furlough them one day a week. yesterday you had lahood, the transportation secretary come to the white house briefing room and say we're going to have delays in air traffic, shut down air traffic control. this tactic is because the white house recognizes they're trying to sway public opinion and put pressure from the outside on republicans. it's interesting. a poll came out just this week that said the vast majority of americans don't know a lot about these cuts that are coming down. the white house is trying to change that. the white house is still working, hoping for a deal. but i get a sense that most of washington and probably even at the white house they recognize we could go past the sequester at least for a few weeks, and there's going to be another chance late in march where the continuing spending resolution comes up or expires and they're going to have to negotiate deal on that. and it all could just be wrapped up into one. >> d

news. it is bad news on the domestic side and on the pentagon side. and it's not to be taken lightly on the domestic side. every single program that people count on is going to be cut across the board, 13%. >> that's social security. >> that's medicare. >> that's medicaid. >> that's headstart. >> that's -- it's -- it is so bad that the congressional budget office said: this sequester will take us not right away but probably by the end of the year from recovery into recession. back into recession. so this thing, here you go, you do this. the economy is going to tank. i was in the briefing room friday at the whitehouse when secretary ray lahood came in secretary of transportation, ray lahood, talking about just one other aspect of that, of the sequester that we can expect and that is in air travel. the secretary mentioned they have no flexibility in this. they have to cut so much and the only wake they can cut with so many employees they've got is to make -- is to require some of them to take a furlough. most of their employees are air traffic controllers.

it through the bureaucracies of the pentagon. america needs chuck as our secretary of defense to bring our troops home and keep our military the strongest in the world. sergeant hagel was an american hero. when so many americans were dodging the draft he volunteered to serve in vietnam. the draft board gave him the option to return to college but chuck refused. he said i think the best thing for me is to go in the army. it may not be the best thing for the army but i think that's the way to get all this straightened out. yfsz the oldest of four boys, he said, my sphawr passed away and i just was not coming together the way i should. there was a war going on in vietnam, i felt a sense of some responsibility so i said no, i think it's time to go. and so i volunteered for the draft. went in the army and celebrated my 21st birthday in white sands missile range. and chuck didn't serve in a safe bullet. when assigned to germany he volunteered for vietnam and saw the horrors of war as an infrant fantdry sergeant. he hand his brother tom are the only known american brothers to serve side by side i
